Record heat rolls in as October chugs along, but we’re thinking fall regardless…
- It’s a great week to head to a pumpkin patch. For an elaborate experience, head (way) south to The Little Farm in Goulds for pony rides, a petting farm, scarecrow kits and pumpkins galore. Or, stay a bit closer to home at Key Biscayne Community Church or Miami Beach’s St John’s on the Lake Church.
- Wednesday, kick child safety up a notch from 5:30-8:30pm with cocktails and cupcakes at Eanie Meanie and the Oscar Project’s infant CPR class. Learn safety techniques and the Heimlich maneuver, nibble on cupcakes and enjoy 20% off everything nearly in the store. $20, call 305-205-3315 for details.
- Friday, shuttle to the Miami Children’s Museum for Target Third Friday. Bring the whole family between 3 and 9pm for free interactive activities, crafts, story telling & hours of air conditioned fun.
- Got some mommy time on your hands? Venture to Saks for a bit of retail therapy from Oct 16-19 and celebrate Key to the Cure. The store is donating 2% of sales to cancer research. Bringing the kids? Bal Harbour is worth the drive – great window shopping, koi ponds with loads of fish, fountains and lots of open space for the kids to run around.
