Festivities abound as we close in on winter break & vacation!!!!

  • Friday head to the Miami Children’s Museum from 3-9p for Target Free Third Friday. The kids will love storytelling, crafts and free reign over the museum’s exhibits. Parents will love the zero dollar price tag. Come sunset, bring the munchkins west for Holiday Night with Wild Lights at MetroZoo. From 7-11pm tour the grounds and soak up special holiday displays of animal-shaped lights, hot chocolate, holiday songs and more. Or, make it an adult night out and take advantage of My Gym’s Parents Night Out. Drop the munchkins off for dinner and supervised play from 7-11pm and hit the town!
  • Saturday it’s off the Reindeer Races. Venture to Midtown between 11am and 1pm and help race Santa’s sleigh-full of rubber duck reindeer in Fountain Plaza. Picture taking, arts and craft and snacks will also be on hand. Alternately, go high brow at Teddy Bear Tea at the Ritz at Coconut Gove. From 4-6pm bring the munchkins for tea, cupcakes and a rolling cart of gummy bears and Oreos.
  • Sunday is arts day. Head to the Arsht Center for a Nutcracker matinee and watch with delight as the Miami City Ballet brings the classic to life. Or. Head south to the Dave & Mary Alper JCC and see Annie, Miss Hannigan and Sandy take the stage during Annie. Feeling a bit more outdoorsy? Bring the family to Jungle Island’s Winter Wonder Island from 10am-6pm and dig into magic snowfalls, ice skating and a holiday-themed show.
